Jeff Bordes’s life is rooted in the belief that education is how you build a better life and a better future for yourself and those around you. The world is a better, less violent, more understanding place when people are educated, and if we want to work towards a better society for all, Jeff knows we need to start with education.

Growing up in Haiti, Jeff is no stranger to the hardships one can face growing up in an impoverished country; he knew that education would be his way to make a difference in the world. He worked hard and opened the door to numerous opportunities which eventually allowed him to develop software that could make a difference for people who wanted to advance their education but couldn’t attend school on a full-time basis. Soon, he turned his focus towards reaching the people who need education the most. All across the planet, people are working towards the same goal: getting a better life for themselves and their families and building towards a better future. Many people in many areas don’t have the opportunity to advance their education beyond high school, and it was through seeking to help them that Astria Learning was formed.

Jeff Bordes is serving as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Astria Learning, an information technology company dedicated to providing educational opportunities to people across the globe. Through Astria Learning, Jeff wants to make education as affordable and accessible as possible to anyone who wants to learn. With ever developing advancements in technology, we’re now able to more quickly and easily reach remote corners of the world and thus provide education opportunities like never before.

Astria Learning currently has clients in 9 countries spanning the globe and student outreach in many more through their devotion to developing solutions that will improve the way we’re able to deliver education around the world. While more effort goes into working in these developing areas, Jeff wants to help those who can benefit most from it. He puts the desire to provide an accessible education over the desire for excessive profiting, which is why he goes into these countries that many find to be too expensive and cost-ineffective to work on. While Jeff himself was working out of an office of Tampa, Florida, he soon realized that, in order to understand an area and how to help the people the best, you need to be with them and spend time among them. He now travels all over the world to understand the specific issues affecting these different areas and enjoys getting his hands in the work he does and connecting with people.

Looking towards the future of education and what he hopes for future generations, Jeff Bordes first takes a look back through prior generations and how far we’ve come regarding accessibility to education. In the past, education was a privilege of the wealthy and something very few people could afford, and it remains that way in some areas to this day. He thinks of the ‘genius in the village’: the idea that there are children born in poor areas who have brilliant minds and untapped potential and because of where they live and their inability to access an proper education, that genius never gets developed. The next Albert Einstein could be hidden somewhere in a village, and through Astria Learning, Jeff wants to provide him with an opportunity to grow and develop through education. He has helped 1.2 million people get an education, and he looks forward to helping even more people in the future.

Because of his belief in the power of education and his desire to educate himself as much as possible to help others, it’s no surprise that Jeff Bordes has had an impressive educational career himself. A lifelong learner, Jeff sees no end in sight to his personal studies and always encourages those around him to strive for more.
